Aura reading can give an amazing insight into a person's
life. Joanne Riley finds
out more about this process.
IF YOU saw the episode of Home Front, where Lawrence Llewelyn
Bowen had his aura photographed and discovered, to his distress,
it was a dark red colour, you will be familiar with this
healing practice.
Used for hundreds of years by mystics and clairvoyants,
aura reading can give an accurate description of a person,
which can, in turn, encourage them to improve their lifestyle.
The aura is, in fact, the energy field which surrounds the
human body and other living things but most of us are unaware
of it as it's not usually visible to the naked eye.
Separated from the body by about two inches, it extends
from between two to eight feet outwards and contains all
sorts of colours and shades. These patterns reveal information
about the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual state
of the person.
"The aura is our blue print and everyone's is different,
just like fingerprints," said Angela Tarry, who is one
of a number of people who can see auras and has done readings
for the last 12 years.
A person's aura will change throughout their life depending
on how they behave and what they experience. If their aura
is bright or light coloured it indicates a positive, cheerful
person but dark patterns show low energy and depression.
"The colour will change depending on your energy levels
or whether you are stressed or ill," added Angela, who
lives near Brighton but will be attending the Mind Body Soul
Exhibition in Cambridge this month.
Having trained as a psycho therapist and in colour healing,
she was introduced to aura reading at a workshop when a friend
needed some extra help.
“I saw it was a very useful
tool for people's growth. I have people coming to me who
have had their auras read for years and they bring a whole
portfolio of aura photos so we can see the changes they've
made and how they have progressed."
An aura reading session usually begins by taking a photo
of the client's aura. The person will sit in a chair with
a black background and place their hands on electrical modules
which are wired to the camera.
Special sensors measure the vibrations in their hands and
these are projected onto a Polaroid film showing colour around
the body.
Colour patches directly above the
head show what you are thinking and the colour above that
shows what you are dreaming and aspiring to. "Some people don't have a clue what
they want to do so have a solid block of colour above their
head," she said.
Patterns surrounding the left hand side of the body relate
to what is going on at an inner level, while the right hand
side reveals your outward expression. Green can suggest you
are caring, light blue can mean you are a good communicator,
while red can mean you are motivated and ambitious.
"Aura reading gives people
guidance and points them in the right direction. It tells
you more about yourself and your potential. For example,
your aura may show you are a good communicator so you may
want to change to a job where you can use this."
Over the years Angela has photographed many celebrities,
such as former boxer Chris Eubank, singer Van Morrison and
designer Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen.
She added: "Chris had a green aura, which shows he is
kind and caring, Lawrence's was dark red, which shows he
is ambitious and intense and Van Morrison's was deep blue
with pink specks, which suggests he is reflective."

the man has a healing energy and is caring while the green
shows he is going through a time of personal change.
